Hello Art Lover,
My name is Ahu Ümit. I am a classically trained artist, residing in beautiful Denver, Colorado.
In my artistic journey, I have found profound inspiration in the captivating worlds of charcoal, still life oil paintings, and still life photography. These mediums allow me to delve into the essence of objects, capturing their beauty, significance, and transience in unique and powerful ways.
Charcoal, with its rich tonal range and expressive qualities, serves as a gateway to the world of black and white. It allows me to explore the interplay of light and shadow, unveiling the hidden drama within ordinary objects. Through the fluid strokes and smudges of charcoal, I aim to capture the raw emotions and textures that lie beneath the surface, breathing life into the subjects of my artwork.
Still life paintings and photography, on the other hand, offer me an opportunity to delve into the realm of color, texture as well as fleeting nature of moments. With each brushstroke and through the lens, I strive to recreate the intricate details and tactile qualities of objects, inviting viewers to engage with their inherent beauty. I seek to paint and create images that transcend the ordinary, inviting viewers to discover the hidden narratives and symbolic meanings within the frame.
Through my exploration of charcoal, still life oil paintings, and photography, I aim to unveil the inherent beauty and poignancy of objects that often go unnoticed. By capturing their essence, I invite viewers to pause, reflect, and appreciate the fleeting nature of life and the profound stories that lie within the simplest of things. My artworks serve as a testament to the power of observation, storytelling, and the enduring beauty found in the everyday life.
Thank you,
Ahu Ümit
